  1. I've been trying to see the pictures of your stunning house#5 foyer, but you site keeps going to your family room instead. Do you have another link to see your foyer? Your designs are beautiful.

  3. I plan to follow you on Pinterest so I would like to unscribe to your blogspot. When I clicked on the unsubscribe button on email you sent me, Feedburner said that my subscription wasn't registered. Can you help me?

    Thanks

  4. Hi Autumn! I just discovered your blog... I recently sent my dinette set to be refinished since it is a nice piece of furniture. I have to select a color/finish soon and I am very confused as to what color to pick. I live in a small condo and my media cabinet is medium to dark wood and the sofa is dark brown leather. I like the unexpected items that cause the WOW effect... just like your style! Do you have any suggestions? Thank you!

    1. it really depends on what else is going on in the room---and what colors you like. painting a doing table *right takes a lot of time and effort, and so whatever you decide to go with, make sure it is something you can live with for a long time! i am always a big fan of classic colors like white, warn grey, peacock blue and mustard yellow, but any color that you LOVE should work just fine.

  5. Hi,

Found your site when I was "googling" trying to find pics with two story cottages, with first level brick and second level siding/cedar shake. Here's my problem... We added a second level to a brick ranch, and though it's a full two story, it has a bit of the charm of the 1 1/2 story, because we used a shed dormer and large peak for the second level. Originally, we were going to paint the existing brick on the first level (which I love!), but so much brick was taken off during demo, and rearranging windows, that the builder feels we should replace the brick. So now, we're looking at different brick styles/colors, but I am so confused, because I don't know how to achieve the look I was going to get when I painted the brick. Can you please help me???? I need help picking out the right color brick, one that ties in with my roof that's already been completed, and the paint colors that will give it the cottage look that I'm going for. Please email me at janabikas@bellsouth.net if you're able to help! Thanks so much!

  7. Color Scheme Advice??

I'm trying to pick accent pillows for my bed. Not sure of colors that will compliment and need some advice.

I definitely want some wide Chevron stripe pillows, but not sure which color. I'm thinking of doing a set of pillows in yellow or navy and want to pair it with another set.

I just don't know which colors will compliment the already existing accent wall of a stone cobalt blue and silver headboard.

I'd love to upload a pic. to show what I'm working with...

    Please help!

    Alison

  8. Autumn-
I've been trying to find a grass cloth to put on one wall in my office. Any companies you can recommend? It's so overwhelming-the world of wallpaper.

Ps I have loved reading your blog! It's so fun to watch you build your house. My friend said she loved working with you and would totally recommend it so if/when we build I'll be calling you. There's so much-I can't believe you've done it so many times!!!

  9. Autumn, I was wondering the square footage of your new build (including the bonus room area?) I think its a great design (bravo) and I am always interested to see exactly how much living space and creature comforts can be accomplished within a given square footage range. Thanks so much!

  13. Autumn,
Really like your "metal tub" bathroom sink! We are looking at house that would be perfect for this. How can this be recreated in my area (we're in IL)? Where can I look for a similar tub? The draw and door pulls are darling; do you have a link for them? My email is joanswords12@hotmail.com.

    Thanks so much! Joan

  14. Hi! I have read your blog for a long time and really enjoy it. I think you would be uniquely qualified to write a series of posts about the process of building a home. With your husband being a contractor (I think) and you being so hands on with all the decisions, you could really give us first timers some good tips. Just from what you have said already I can tell that you know what goes into each step and that you think of things I would NEVER have thought of. Please consider doing this! I haven't found it anywhere else either, so you could really be the go-to person for that kind of blog. (If you know of someone else doing it, maybe you could just let us know what that website is) Thanks so much and good luck with your home and your blog! PS (I know that you have done this somewhat already, but I mean really getting into the details with things like how to choose crown molding, pros and cons of different layouts, how to monitor the building process etc)

  16. What color is your kitchen island painted? You said you planned to do Restoration Hardware Slate - is that what you ended up doing? Is there a similar BM color?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. yes--i used RH slate. i think a close color is chelsea gray, but it is a bit cooler than the slate. i can't say that there is a BM color that is a dead ringer for it. :)

  18. Hi autumn! Loved your metal backing photographs in your lobby! How would one go about getting a hold of something like that, if I don't have a construction/industrial connection? I'm looking to create something similar, but for the backing to an office whiteboard... Let me know!
