I love your designs! I really need help with my family room. We've been in our house for over 9 years and I just don't know what to do with the planter shelves, sliding glass door, tv nook, etc. It doesn't help that it is all connected to our dining nook and kitchen. It is just kind of blah and needs a kick in the right direction.

  54. Ok, you know your great friend who gets "it" right about 40% of the time.....You know the one. You say things like "Oh, bless her heart". Well, that's me. I am on the cusp of a great thing, but never know quite how to close the deal. I have been so inspired by the idea of lightening and brightening my decor, that I took everything down that I don't love. You should see the mess I created! I have dumped the "typical/safe colors" I want FREEDOM! Yes! Color! Vibrancy! Life! Fun! My living room is challenged by being north facing, minimal light. Vaulted ceilings could allow for some really great visual points. How to find those points, is a wonder to me. THAT is where you come in.......I would love to see your mad skills at work.

    ReplyDelete
  55. You do some amazing design work! I would love some ideas for my family room, as it is the first thing you see when you walk into my home, and is definitely to most used room. With tall ceilings and no focal point (fireplace, ect) i am lost!! I look forward to reading more on your blog!

  71. I'd love your help in my front room. It's open all the way to the top of my 2 story house and the dining room is attached...although it has a ceiling from the loft above. You basically walk into a big empty space when you walk into my home...not inviting at all. Hard to picture I'm sure and a challenge to decorate to say the least.

With one long wall holding the dbl pocket doors into the master bedroom, and the other long wall having a large bank of windows and one of the short walls having a door and a window it has been a VERY difficult room to make functional and decorate. I'd love any help I can get with this room.

  131. After 3 1/2 years of failed house purchases (builder backed out, buyer backed out, etc.) we finally moved into a 4 year old beautiful home 2 weeks ago. I'm ready to get out of the boring traditional "Pottery Barn" style and do some bold decorating. I have a 3000 square foot blank canvas and would love your ideas for my 3 & 6 year old daughters' Paris room, a light blue and gray inspired master bedroom, or many others. Thx you! :)

  132. Our house is TINY and needs so much help to make it feel like a home. While every room needs help and major reconstruction, the one room that could use some unifying is our living room. We're still stuck in poor college student mode of decorating, even though we've had good careers for the past two years. Hope we win!
