coastal living idea house

i have quite a few magazine subscriptions,
but one of my most, most
favorites is coastal living.
i love the features they have on small coastal towns,
and the array of coastal homes that they feature.
i secretly dream of living on the coast--any coast--one day.
when my october issue arrived last weekend,
i curled up in a chair and devoured the newest issue,
which featured their 2010 idea house,
in seabrook washington.
every thing in the house is
just.
beautiful.

i love the mix of all of the soft hues here:
grey, blue, camel, oyster.
very soothing.
and don't you love that the trim is darker than the walls?

i love how much texture and color is bought into
this area by the art collage.
this is the media room/den.
what a great place to sit and watch tv and eat some popcorn!
the maser bedroom.
loving all the stripes.

*sigh*
isn't this bathroom amazing?
that vanity is gor----------geous!
this was my
favorite room in the house.
i love the faux bois stripe
 behind the headboard!

the designer took this soft lavender color
from the inside of a shell!
isn't the house lovely?
interior design by tim clarke.
(loving the stripes on the risers tim!
and thanks for all the eye candy.)

  1. oh boy!!! another goodie!! Autumn, did you notice the lighting he used in the house? I love all of it. (looks like some of it is Circalighting.com) - I know because I have been looking at lighting now for MONTHS!!! Notice he didn't put stuff over the island, but put those big globes over the table? LOVE IT

  3. Love that fireplace! And yes, a lot of the lighting is Visual Comfort. The fixtures he placed in the bathrooms are such a different use. I'd love to know a little more about how and why.

  4. Oh I'm not at all surprised to see that handsome Tim Clarke sitting on the stairway at the end of the post. I have always adored his style. He is the master of the calm grown up beach house!
