i SO want this rug for my living room, but it is a thin, flat weave rug,
and i really had my heart set on a thicker, plush rug. anyone out there
know of any recommendations for something similar?

How would a thick rug pad non-skid liner work? I love rugs. Like you, I prefer the plush thick ones. Try http://addarug.com/ for a plush liner. Maybe they'll have one. Have a wonderful, safe holiday weekend!
