my girls bathroom, all finished, in just under a week!
i envisioned this space as a fun, happy room filled with pattern, a touch of deep blue, and some whimsical details that allude to the fact that this room is used by two teen girls. i decided i wanted to use a wallpaper pretty early on in the design process. i have always wanted to use an animal print wallpaper somewhere in my home, and i looked into snakeskin, cheetah, and several leopard patterns. i finally decided on a bolder black + taupe leopard print wallpaper, which i think is the perfect balance to the tailored, deep blue valance and vanity. a vintage pendant light and large vintage pulls add a sense of history. many items in this room were purchased on ebay, thrift stores, ikea and home goods. the only "real" splurge was the flooring--an elongated marble hex tile that really adds some texture and a sense of luxury.

both mirrors are from home goods, and are attached to the large mirror with outdoor command hook strips.
ikea ribba panels are edged with vintage fringe.
this art was purchased at a local craft fair, and framed in an ikea ribba frame.
(i will post a tutorial on this little sign soon!)
ikea ribba frames with custom mats add a lot of presence on a budget.
the vanity lighting and faucets were both purchased on ebay for a fraction of the retail price.
these hexagonal towel rings add contrast to the organic feel of the wallpaper, and add a subtle nod to the hexagonal marble pattern on the floor.
the double play mat gives this affordable art a feeling of importance.
