relaxed retreat

this atlanta home was featured recently in house beautiful,
and i had it in my file, but i was pleasantly relieved to
find digital images of it online.
i really like how reclaimed wood has been used
to add some texture and interest.
(be on the look for it throughout the house!)
the interiors are so calming and monochromatic,
and the pops of purple bring so much life into the space.
the floors appear to be bleached...a nice way to lighten things up!

notice that large, rustic "beam"?
me likey:
chicken wire on the built-ins.
chevron pillow
 light fixtures

so pretty and simple.
notice how the opening on the right
has reclaimed wood surrounding it?
the other doors and casings
appear to be a limed and distressed wood.
little details like this add a lot
of character and warmth.
what i'm noticing:
bead board ceiling, great wallpaper,
cool round frames with pops of red...
and notice the vintage looking louvered doors?
really unique lighting solution!
and the windows are killin' me...
love the industrial feel of them.
ahh...i would love to cook a meal here!

lovely bed.
and again, those windows!
really beautiful bathroom.
it think it was an interesting choice to
center a window high over the sinks, and
then lean a mirror on the countertop.
love this cozy little back patio.
also, notice how the brick has been painted
on a section of the house, but their is still
a red brick border around the windows? a nice touch
to tie the two together.
