big

first off...
a big thank you
to gabrielle blair (aka design mom)
for featuring the remodel of house #5
on the stir @ cafe mom, and for the
mention on design mom.

you can read the post here.
and a big welcome to my new readers!
*smiles*
also...
summer is coming to an end, and with it will bring some
big changes to my world.
you see, for the last 11 years, i have mostly been
"just a mom". even when i was working alongside my
husband, the majority of my time was spent with my kids.
i turned down a lot of design work so i could
focus my energy on my three little kiddos.
(if you look closely, you will notice that my little man, grady, loves to "enhance" family photos by crossing his eyes.
it's 70% cute, and 30% aggravating.)
but starting next week,
all three of my little kiddos
are going to be in school.
all day.
every day.
it's going to be a little weird for me, i will admit.
but, i am also really excited to have the opportunity
to take on some more design work.
(more details will follow in the coming weeks.)
***
also...this weekend, i scanned another big pile
of magazine clippings from my design files.
there are some fun,
random, pretty pictures, like
this great staircase...
quite a few pictures of gorgeous window treatments,
a ton a white kitchens...
(wow---i had no idea that i was so obsessed
with white kitchens! i have dozens of pictures of gorgeous white kitchens that i am going to be *dumping here in the
next week or two)
and, a lot of pictures of gorgeous
outdoor spaces, that are making me feel a
little sad that summer is coming to an end.
(so, i'm going to make sure that
the kiddos have some big fun this week
before they head back to school!)
happy monday everyone!

  6. i know---it's a fine line between being sad that all my kids are growing up, and this weird/incredible feeling of freedom!if i had a house to decorate, i would spend all day, every day making it PURDY, but since i don't, i guess i'll just have to make other people's homes beautiful.

  8. I love your blog. I have noticed that the majority of kitchens in all blogs are white..white cupboards, white walls and such. While I am not a big fan of white, they are beautiful. Although, I haven't seen many kitchen such as mine featuring cabinets such as mine (sort of a cinnamonish (is that even a word?) cabinets. Do you have any design inspiration for kitchens that are not white?
