oh, there's quite a few things on my bucket list.
one of them is to live in a
house
with
a courtyard.
WOW!
that's what i first thought when i saw this one.
i love the stacked rock wall, and the way the
plantings cascade over the sides of it.
a courtyard is the perfect use of a small and steep backyard.
i love the privacy that courtyards provide,
and the fact that they are usually small
means easy upkeep.
i think this one is just about perfect.
not too big, not to small.
a pretty water feature that just might be a pool?
and lots of plants.

i also love the look of this water feature.
it looks like it just might have been there for
a hundred years...or more.
this one is a great balance
between refined and rustic.
this one looks like the perfect spot to sit.
loving the fireplace and the tree!
love the slightly *wild look of this one.
it's refined and elegant,
but also a little unkempt looking.
which one would you pick?

Beautiful! I can't decide between the one the black poodle is modeling or the "balance between refined and rustic". Don't you wish aging things were as easy as throwing dirt and pots around?!
ReplyDeleteI love all of the photos! So beautiful. Just found your blog and I'm loving it!
ReplyDeleteI love the one with the fireplace.. Ain't nothing better than chillaxing outside in the evening next to a fire. :)
ReplyDeletephares causey,

hamptontoes, welcome!! and i love your blogger id!

bizzymom,
i know...an our door fireplace is so mezmerizing/serene/relaxing. i think the world would be a better place if we should ALL had outdoor fireplaces!
